The Academy – written and directed by Peter Hinton for 2act Productions and starring Ian McKellen, Sylvester McCoy and Frances Barber – is a mockumentary set in a fictional, ailing drama school.

Attempting to further suspend the disbelief created by the premise of the show, the logo and resultant branded materials feature an aesthetic that represents both naivety and pretension and yet is actually fully considered within the bounds of knowing, subtly-crafted design principles. From this, Peter and I hoped to extend the plausibility of the existence of The Academy and its faculty and students.
